PGA Professional Craig Thomas used his Cure RX3F Series putter to capture victory at the 2015 MasterCard Senior Match Play Championship held recently at the Woodmere Country Club in Woodmere, New York.
Thomas of the Metropolis Country Club, defeated Bill Van Orman of the Meadow Brook Club 5 and 4 and collected the Championship Trophy for the second year in a row.
“I was first introduced to the CURE putter line at the Champions Tour event in Quebec last September,” said Thomas. “CURE’s Tour Rep, Jim Barfield, was chatting with a few guys on the putting green and I overheard their conversation. I must have looked interested because Jim came over and introduced himself. He spent at least 30 minutes fitting me with a putter. Fast forward a few weeks later and I put the RX3 into play for the Met PGA Senior Championship last fall. The very first nine holes I used the putter in competition I had only 10 putts!! Granted, I did chip in once, but that was still 10 putts for the remaining 8 holes. I went on to win that event and also used it to win the Sr. Trieber Memorial Championship, and wrapped up the Senior Player of the year here in the Met section. This spring picked up right where last fall ended. I have recently switched over to the RX3-Flange putter, and just captured my second straight Met PGA Senior Match Play Championship.”
Craig Thomas is the head PGA Professional at the Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, New York. “I like the ability to easily adjust the weight of the putter, and do so frequently according to the speed of the greens which I am playing, stated Thomas. “We just received our order of putters for the golf shop here at Metropolis Country Club, with a CURE Putter demo day scheduled for the end of this month. I am anxious to see how the members react to the line. As a club professional who owns my own shop, I love the ability to adjust the lie angle, as well as the weight of the putters. The fact that the RX1 and the RX2 can be switched from right-handed to left-handed is also a nice feature.”

A year ago, former PGA Tour Commissioner Deane Beman was at the PGA Merchandise Show extolling the virtues of Cure's RX putters and their "triangulation alignment system." It would have been easy to dismiss the product as another Hail Mary attempt in the golf business, but now the company has expanded its line to include the RXi, with a technology story worth exploring. Staying true to its concept of trying to produce mallet-like stability in a blade-style head, the RXi ($300) goes beyond that with an interchangeable face-insert that can alter the putter's overall weight and moment of inertia. Depending on whether you're using the aluminum or brass face insert, the putter's weight can vary from 345grams to 410 grams, and the MOI can increase close to three times that of a traditional blade putter, helping to keep the club from twisting during the stroke and at impact. Sounds like something Beman might have been happy to use during his playing career.

Rod Spittle, who led the Allianz Championship early in the final round, used his Cure RX Series putter to capture a T-9th Place Finish and collect a check for $45,900.00. Spittle ranked 2nd in Birdies with 18 at the event and had 23 One Putts over the 54 Holes of the tournament (a 42.59% Average).
“My Cure RX Series putter is the most stable putter I have ever used,” said Spittle, “and my putting stats have improved dramatically – I’m saving over 2 strokes per event since I put it in the bag!”
Champions Tour Player, Dana Quigley switched to a Cure RX Series putter recently and has seen a big improvement in his putting as well. Quigley ranked 2nd in One Putt Percentage (48.15%) at the Allianz Championship recording 26 One Putts for the 54 Holes of the tournament and 5th in Putts Per GIR with a 1.607 average.
“The Allianz is our first event of the 2015 Champions Tour season and we’ve already captured our first Top 10,” said Jim Barfield, Vice-President of Tour Operations for Cure Putters. “Each week more and more of the Tour Players are recognizing the benefits of our Higher MOI design and realizing just how much it can help their game!”
Cure RX Series putters all feature an Extremely High MOI design, which is very stable and offers incredible forgiveness for much greater accuracy and distance control, even on extreme mishits. The adjustable weighting system allows a far greater range of weight than any other putter on the market, allowing the golfer to find the perfect weight to suit their stroke and tempo. The Triangulation Alignment, invented by Deane Beman, helps you line up your putt like an arrow for deadly accuracy. With a higher center of gravity and lower loft, Cure Putters deliver a superior roll – getting the ball rolling sooner, helping it stay on the intended line. Cure Putters’ innovative design takes several problematic variables out of the equation and offers incredible forgiveness and control, resulting in a tighter shot dispersion. Golfers of every skill level will putt more consistently, build confidence and achieve better results with a Cure RX Series putter.

(Flagler Beach, FL) – Cure’s RX Series Putters have been gaining a lot of attention from the Tour Players, and the company has recently been featured on both the Golf Channel and BACK9NETWORK.

“We’ve gained a lot of momentum over this last year and proven that our unique Higher MOI design combined with adjustability and customization will benefit anyone from high handicappers to TOUR players and everyone in between,” said CEO of Cure Putters, Jim McCarthy, “With the feedback and lab testing we’ve done over the last 12 months, we’ve come out with 5 phenomenal new RX Series putters that will appeal to a wider range of players. We are redefining the category of High MOI putters with TOUR profile models, and more traditional designs – A lot of golfers think you have to use a big mallet or a heavy putter to get the increased stability and forgiveness. We’ve got a blade coming out with more MOI than the leading mallets!”
